SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St. has announced their programming for August. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program.

¯ The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 12-2pm. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!
¯ Chess Club: All skill levels are welcome to come to Chess Club! It will meet on Fridays from 2 to 3 p.m. For ages 10 and up and registration is not required. Please stop in and play!
How to Write Your Empire Plan with Isaiah Rashad, II: Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Join the group as Isaiah helps us to recenter, figure out and build the plan for your empire. Isaiah is a writer and public speaker on crime and cultural behavior. His objective is to bridge the gap of communication between government leadership and the common people. Isaiah is a former gang member, who rose to become a United States Army Soldier, Police Officer, and Assistant Professor turned author of several books and countless essays.
¯ Getting Started with Native Plants: Thursday, Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m. with Kathy Contrino from CW Native Plant Farm. Kathy will share lots of information about adding native plants to your garden, along with the benefits of doing so!
¯ Cozy Mystery Book Club: Tuesday, August 15 at 6 pm. (Meets the third Tuesday of the month). Call the library to reserve this month’s book.
¯ Wire Wrapped Vase: Thursday, Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m. with instructor Karen Taverna. Wire Wrapping isn’t just for jewelry! You can dress a simple yogurt container with a little wire, some string and beads. Learn how to make a copper flower to adorn your pretty glass vase. This make and take class is free with all materials and tools provided. For ages 10 plus. Please register to ensure enough materials for all.
Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from 12-8 pm, Thursday 10 am to 8 pm, Friday 12-5 pm, and Saturday 10 am-2 pm. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
